We’re excited for you to visit Wayside and enjoy the beauty, activities and family fun of our Northern Virginia farm. To help you plan your day, we’ve answered some of the questions we hear most often.
Is parking free? Is there anything visitors should know about parking?
Parking is free, and we have plenty of it! Parking is in a field on the farm and just a short walk to the admissions entrance.
About how long do most families spend at Wayside?
Families spend an average of 3 hours at the farm. However, some families spend the majority of the day at the farm so they can try all the activities!
What happens if it rains? Do you stay open in light rain, and where should visitors check to see if the farm closes?
The farm closes if there is heavy rain. With light rain, the farm remains open. In the event the farm closes due to weather, a post will be made on Facebook and on the farm website.
What restroom facilities are available for guests?
The farm is equipped with port-a-potties including handicap ones. In addition, the farm has a baby changing station.
What should I wear to the farm?
We recommend comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes that you don’t mind getting a little dirty. Wayside is a working farm, so conditions can be dusty, muddy or uneven depending on the weather.
Is Wayside Farm Fun a good place for toddlers and young children?
Yes! Wayside has plenty of activities for younger children to enjoy, including farm animals, play areas, hayrides and other hands-on farm fun. Families can choose the activities that are the best fit for their children.
Can guests bring outside food and drinks or coolers?
Outside coolers and food is not allowed at the farm. We have plenty of food options to enjoy at the farm including pizza, burgers, chicken nuggets, hot dogs, French fries, cookies and donuts.
Are strollers and wagons allowed? Are there areas where these are restricted?
Wayside Farm Fun is stroller friendly. Your little ones can cruise around the farm in their stroller or wagon with wide-open pathways.
How accessible is the farm for guests using wheelchairs or other mobility devices?
The farm is accessible for those with mobility challenges or in wheelchairs. The farm offers handicap parking spaces right at the entrance and the land is flat and open.
Are dogs allowed?
Pets are not allowed on the farm. Trained service dogs are welcome. If it is not obvious that a dog is a service animal, staff may ask what work or task the dog has been trained to perform. Service dogs are not permitted on tractor rides.
Should I buy tickets in advance?
We recommend purchasing tickets online before your visit, especially on busy fall weekends. Tickets may also be purchased at the gate.
What is included with Farm Fun admission?
Farm Fun admission includes Wayside’s farm activities and attractions. There are no additional charges for individual attractions once you are inside.
Are tickets refundable?
All ticket sales are final. Tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable unless Wayside Farm Fun closes due to weather.
How long does the maze typically take? Is there an estimate for the easy path and hard path?
The corn maze has two versions: a short version and a long version. The short corn maze takes about 15 minutes. The long maze takes around 45 minutes from start to finish.
Do I need a reservation to pick my own pumpkins?
Yes. Reservations are required for the 8-acre pick-your-own pumpkin field and are separate from Farm Fun admission.
